what do you think ? Is credit card a boon or a trap.. there are lot of reports of debt stories where people have become debtors because of credit card.is credit card a real villan ?

Track your spending for a couple months so you can see where your money is going. Then identify areas you can tighten and free up more cash for those unexpected costs. If you've been using software, this is a snap. A low-tech method is simply jotting down your spending in a pocket-sized notebook. Record as much as possible, you'd be surprised how quickly those $2.95 lattes add up. As your circumstances change, you may have to make adjustments. For example, if you're spending more on gas, you may need to cut back on eating out or wait to buy that new sweater.
Credit cards are suppose to be a convenience tool. It's used to pay for things that can;t be paid out in cash E.G. If you go and buy and LCD you probably wont be carrying 70-80k in your pocket to pay out in cash. So credit cards are supposed to be used in situations like these where you know you have the money but you can't carry it with you everywhere.
However, if you use credit cards for things you know you can;t pay for then you are in trouble. E.g If I want to buy a Home Theatre System which probably costs around 35k and I dont exactly have that much money in my pocket and nor is there a possibility of procuring such an amount in the near future but I still decide to go ahead and buy the System on Card. Then I'm surely going to be trapped in the debt Cycle. Because simply I'm living beyond my means and Credit Cards are not be used to buy things that one can't afford.
If this basic principal is kept in mind then credit cards are not an 'evil'
There are people who use it effectively. But if you are free runner dont try it.Many people I have seen used it as a best part of online purchase/payments of bills.Give it a try if you know your limits.or elz u will be in trouble
