Netaji was born on 23rd January 1897 in Cuttack. he studied in an Anglo school, Cuttack until standard 6 and then shifted to Ravenshaw Collegiate School of Cuttack. He passed his B.A. in 1918 in Philosophy from the Scottish Church College of the University of Calcutta. After that he went to Fitzwilliam Hall of the University of Cambridge for civil service.
